Drew Barrymore donates $1 million to the World Food Program

Drew Barrymore said Monday she is donating $1 million to help fight hunger.

She made the announcement on "The Oprah Winfrey Show," saying she would give the money to the World Food Program, a U.N. body that delivers millions of tons of food aid to more than 70 million people in about 80 countries.

"I'm able to make this incredible donation — this has changed my life," she said on the program. "But I encourage everyone to give."

Barrymore, who serves as a World Food Program ambassador, later told The Associated Press that the $1 million is the largest donation she's made.

"By far," the 33-year-old actress said. "But nothing has ever felt so good."

4. There was some Canadian Millionaire on CBC about 3 years back.

He was giving away money like dollars were M&M's. His schtick was that it felt SO DAMNED GOOD he just didn't want to stop.

Seems TRUE philanthropy releases endorphins and dopamine, which is why it makes you feel Great!

But both Drew and Oprah need to be careful with the language they used when talking about HIV/AIDS.

Drew referred to the HIV meds as "vaccines".

And Oprah, when talking about how you need to have something to eat with certain meds, said that if taken on an empty stomach, the body "rejects" the meds.

Just some FYI and little of me be nit-picky.

But overall, she's doing a good thing. And when Cameron called in, we thought she was going to match Drew, but alas, she only called to cheer on her best friend.
