What strangely human quirks do your pets have?
My aussie/cocker "Blue" would pull the ribbons out of the Maltese'(Winky) hair every time I had her groomed, until the time I took HER to the groomer and had ribbons put in her ears. Since I started having ribbons put on her when groomed, she now leaves Winky's alone.

Then, a couple weeks ago, for fun we put Joe's (the chilly dachshund/chihuahua who likes to dress up) sweater on Winky and BOTH Blue and Joe got INSANELY jealous and literally pulled it off of her.

Joe was FURIOUS and Blue was just plain jealous and relentless until she was OUT of that sweater. It was HYSTERICAL.

I spend too much time with my dogs, I know.

6. Trust me it's bizarre.
Just kickin' it on the living room floor, propped up on her elbow watching the tube. I want to send it to AFV.

4. Olive, my parrotlet, laughs
In proper context, and often unprompted. (It's not a voice mimic -- she has a specific laughing chirp, kind of high and rapid-fire.)

7. My kitties like boiled shrimp.. with cocktail sauce
and they do not share.. If one drops theri shrimp.. Skunkie will eat it..

I gave them shrimp today for a treat and Skunkie ate Marvin's, Sara's and Willie's shrimp..

I even caught him in the sink trying to fish the "tails" out of the disposal..

and Skunkie will wait until we put ice cubes in the water bowl before he drinks..

15. We have a waterbed and my 65 lb springer loves to sleep
on his back, with his head propped up on pillows.

Also, when you give him a really special treat, say a scrambled egg with a crumbled piece of sausage, he lies on his stomach and VERY carefully eats each bite. He drags it out instead of bolting his special treats. I've never seen a dog do that.

16. max likes to copy how we talk....
he'll crawl up to us on the couch, and my mom usually prompts him with "What's going on, Max?" and he'll start yipping and making strangely human movements with his jaw. It's kind of freaky when he tries to speak.

He also gets jealous whenever someone pays attention to Suki, the other dog, and he'll sulk off to under the table. Max also likes to get under covers with me, and he'll put his head on the pillow so it's very cute seeing him sleep like that.

Oh, and Max really loves to wear outfits. He gets a total kick out of wearing his red leather cowboy outfit and his hooded sweatshirt.

17. My spoiled, rotten Rottie throws trantrums
When I take her out to go pottie, she always gets a treat. If she does not get her treat, she will jump up and down and bark and growl and act like a spoiled 3-year-old child.

19. My girlcat, Yankee, answers anything said to her
she doesn't respond when you are simply talking, or if you talk to the other cats, but if you address her, she answers you every time. If you yell at her, she sasses back with a particular little whiny "did not either" kind of noise that she only makes when she's being scolded.

My big boy, Cappy, likes to sleep like a "big kitty" - in other words, he insists on lying on his side with his head on my pillow and partly under the covers. He stares adoringly at my husband the whole time. It's kind of unnerving, but very adorable.

20. My boxer dog Leon
sighs dramatically when he's unhappy...actually it's a sigh with a slight hint of snort

he talks back, too. when he is scolded (unless he's REALLY in trouble), he throws his head back and does a howling (WOO WOO WOO)

he also has a vocabulary of exactly 54 words (my wife and I counted), which is amazing since he's a total idiot in every other way. we have have to spell words like "outside," "park," "ball," and "wet food" when speaking to each other.
