Request for vibes/ prayers for my family/niece
I am on my way to the hospital. My niece was due in one month and is having a c section right now. Apparently the baby is breech but there must be something else going on for them to take it so early.

When I get back I'll update this. In the meantime, I just want everything to be alright in the long run with her and the baby.

Thanks all.

and don't worry too much - one month early isn't bad these days, and a C-section will solve the breech problem.

Congratulations, Aunt Teena!!

22. Sending a prayer for her
but actually I don't think one month is that early. Please encourage your sister to breast feed (if that was her initial choice). I had my first one month early and she had to stay in the hospital. The nurses did everything they could to dissuade me from breast feeding while my daughter was hospitialized. They were wrong and I'm glad I persevered.

 I think it will be OK. :-)

24. Good luck to your niece and family.
The baby could be in distress from the position. The triplets were taken six weeks early because they were so overcrowded that one was in distress. They are now wonderfully healthy 3-year-olds who talk all the time.

Just the other day, one told me he was "naked".

34. Everything will be fine.. Don't worry too much
If the baby is breech and is in an odd position, it's not likely to turn.. It might also be a big baby and may be pressing on the placenta.. A detached placenta (abruption) is a big emergency (I had TWO of them).. They may be doing this as a precaution.

That baby will probably weigh between 6-7 pounds and it should be fine..

I know that everyone will worry, but I still say she and the kiddo will be fine :)

I posted this in a hurry and was worried sick when I left.

It turned out my niece had gone to the doctor because she had been having SOME contractions but the baby had not moved this morning and she was worried. The doctor discovered the baby was breech and decided to do a C section.

She was born near 5 pm and is a tiny little thing with long legs and long fingers. 6 lbs 1 oz and 18 inches long. Real expressive with a healthy set of lungs but also a pretty mellow infant. All the other infants would scream when they got their tests and exams in the nursery..she would fuss when they bugged her but calmed right back down...I must have stared at her for two hours straight before we got to take her to my niece.

Hopefully she'll eat a lot these next few weeks and keep that birth weight on to stay healthy.

For those that commented, my niece will breast feed and if you recall little Gracie was born last January so..there's no shortage of takers. ( I have to laugh because my niece waited til she was over 30 to get married. Her husband, prior to marriage, was concerned that they were moving too fast and now they have 2 kids inside 13 months...so much for caution...but at least they are 2 really cute kids...there's nothing worse than having to fake it with your own family)

I really appreciate all the well wishes and prayers..I was very concerned when I left.

Oh..and in case you're wondering...no name yet...they hadn't arrived at a conclusion ..they thought they had a few more weeks...so for right now, she's BABY BLANK!

But cute...real cute..I know..I'm biased...but other people looked through the nursery room window and said she was cute so I have witnesses.
:-)
