since everbody is paying attention to different breeds because of the dogshow recently.Lets not ignore the dogs and cats who dont have pedigrees or wouldnt qualify for a dog/catshow because they arent "pure" enough.Lets all give a shout out to the dogsand cats roamin the streets or the ones bought not from a breeder but from a family on the block.All of my pets came to my doorstep lookin for love or like my dogs found as tiny puppies abandoned in a box in an allyway (i still am upset i had to give them away because we had to move to an apartment :cry: ) Lets give a cheer to all these unique dogs and cats!!!!

3. But you CAN show a mixed breed!

Most shows have a HHP (household pet) championship too - some really sweet and beautiful animals win the HHP title. (Some pets really REALLY like being shown - that Newfie was a good example - I'd never advocate showing an animal that didn't enjoy it.)

There's a lot to be said for the beautiful mongrel. After all, most of us are mongrels. (Humans can more accurately be said to have "breeds" than "races" - minor superficial differences in the phenotype.)
