I liked DU better before all the sub forums came to be.
I remember when I could visit the lounge and find interesting posts on so many great subjects. Now, I come here and--no offense--I find a lot of fluff posts. Nonsense posts.

Now, I have to go to the lobby and click on a dozen different sub forums that hardly ever get any action. You could post something on a thread and it could be days before you find another post there.

I would never totally leave DU. But, I don't visit as much as I used to. I've joined a couple of other forums where I can actually have some interesting give and take on a subject all in one day. All those extra forums have just watered down the lounge. A lot of the substance was taken away from it. To be honest---it's just boring now.

Just sayin'.

1. Isn't The Lounge supposed to be fluff and fun?

A place to kick off your shoes?

If you want interesting, different topic then go to General Discussion.

The GD-P changed temporarily until after the primaries are over.

Maybe that's the change you are seeing?

It felt odd to me too after that temp. change.

It'll be back to normal soon.

2. Frankly I have enough serious substantial stuff in real life. I come to the lounge to let my hair
down.

5. I'm not talking about "serious".
I'm talking about interesting. We used to have some great threads about health, books, movies, etc. Now, it's like most threads are so silly, they couldn't hold the interest of a five year old.

6. I enjoy combining two or more interests into a picture post.
Here are photography and cooking in a nice combination.
