What if Kindergarten classes were taught via the Socratic Method?

What would happen?

1. All the children would die of hemlock poisoning

2. The kids would lose every time.

It's far too easy to trip them up. Then they would get cranky, go home and tell the parents that teacher is mean, the principal would get calls, parent teacher meetings leading to yelling at the school board meeting and eventual dismissal.

Or maybe it would just lead to spontaneous nap time.

3. They'd listen and like it.

Kids use the Socratic method all of the time. :)

4. Some places do use it

especially in areas of language acquisition and learning.

I forget the name of the approach though, when a whole school uses it.

It's quite a site to see, these little people deconstructing a story and applying to their lives. :D
