6. Nice post, Alanis Morissette
What's the thesis in your essay?
I loved Frankenstein.

7. It was a fairly simple and short one
we just had to take a quote from the text and use it to explain how we feel that quote helps support our viewpoint on one particular motif. I chose the motif of the 'other', and I wanted to show how the 'other' that is similar to us is often more frightening than something completely foreign. Had Frankenstein's creature been a mindless completely nonhuman thing, it never would have suffered as it did, nor would it have earned the hatred it did from manking and Frankenstein in particular. But because it was halfway between man and not-man, it could never quite be either.

Or something like that. It's not my best work. But considering that it's the first essay I've written in the last 5 or 6 years, I'm not shooting too high. :)

Also, it was only supposed to be three pages double spaced. And we could only use a fairly short quote. So there wasn't a whole lot I could do with it.

8. That's pretty interesting.
The good news is, I'm giving it an A.
The bad news is, I'm a math professor.
So take the grade with a grain of salt.

9. Eh, I'm not worried about my grade.
I'm pretty good at bullshitting my way through essays. I just don't like that it doesn't live up to my personal standards. :P
