Any other Garland Jeffreys fans out there?
I'm listening to the CD of "Escape Artist". I'd forgotten how good it is. "96 Tears", "R.O.C.K.", "We the People" - it's all good.

Any other fans?

1. Love Garland Jeffreys!
Just finished a cdr that includes my favourites:

New York Sky Line
Wild In The Streets
Matador
One-Eyed Jack
Ghost Writer

I've always wondered why Garland Jeffreys didn't hit it big. The guy has a unique voice and a lot of talent. He never hatrouble getting quality musicians either. David Sanborn (sax) and Patti Austin (vocals) really made his studio work first rate.


Wonder what ever happened to him? The song Matador is apparently a metaphor for drug dealer.....perhaps he went the way of other musicians who couldn't pull himself out of the drug crowd.

2. he's still around
played in NYC not too long ago.
I remember seeing it advertised. Didn't see the show myself though.
