It's so lonely here right now. Please forgive a bit of neediness.
I'm here at work right now...work being a small university in the Loop.

I feel like I'm the only person in the building. It's such a lonely feeling, sometimes.

May I indulge in knowing that there are others out there? That I'm not alone?

Sometimes I get this way. A feeling of utter isolation. Which is ironic, to say the least, living in a city of 3 million people.

You're out there, aren't you?

Thanks.

:-)

Terry

Where can I get one or did you create it?

Edit: Nevermind I went to Feingolds website and see he's selling them!

3. Good Mornin'
Loneliness is like that. I was loneliest when I was in a long term, bad marriage. Been on my own for a while now & relish the SOLITUDE.
So Terry, you're not alone. You're admired & appreciated here.
Love, P.

4. We're here............
I always loved that time of night when I was completely alone. I guess everyone has their own feeling if isolation, but I was always so glad that the rest of the assholes that made my life at work intolerable weren't around, and I reveled in it.
Hang in there, it'll be over soon. Then the hustle and bustle of everyday life will make you wish you were alone again.

5. I like the isolation myself...
it provides the balance for all the times I have people around me.

6. Hello there
Other humans are present! I can feel my most isolated in a crowd, so I do understand. I hope you feel a bit better soon.

Holler if you need us. :)

7. Enjoy the sunrise

and imagine the poor wage slaves who are sipping bad coffee while contemplating another day passing without a positive meaningful thing happening for nine hours after their commute in to work. The millions who would prefer to spend their time home tending to their children rather than Other Peoples' Children.

All exile ends; true solitude contains a wonder and joy of feeling connected. Abandonment is the true pain.

But even that is not all bad, because its work is to remind us (because when we are absorbed otherwise we forget) of the far rose on the mountain that each other life we fall in love with is- and we are meant to seek out.

19. Good morning to everyone else in the same boat!
Nicely put Lexingtonian.

5 hours 10 minutes down, 4 hours 5 minutes to go (or thereabouts).
About 30 minutes of the total will be meaningful and productive (in a
real way rather than just an "account for your time" way).

I have no problem with being genuinely alone - i.e., walking across a
moor or through a forest - nor with being with friends (even if just
being quiet together, not needing to talk to know that there is still
friendship in silence). I do sympathise with the "alone in an office
full of people" feeling though.

Still, until I win the lottery I'll have to keep turning up each day
to pay for the house, etc., and put up with watching the birds hopping
around outside when I go to make myself another revolting coffee.

Happy Thursday to everyone out there! :hi:

10. This is true. I didn't want to wallow in self-pity.
It's just so damned weird right now.

I know I'm a lot better off than most people. I should count my blessings.

Thanks to everyone who made me feel better.

:-)

That's too bad.

I can't stand people. Well, you guys are okay. Sometimes I'd go for days without speaking to anyone.

Just waiting for confirmation on the date from SusanG and mkuhl who brought up the idea in the first place. We usually start mid afternoon and go to whenever. We'll keep you posted.
