one can only wonder how much great music was lost when she became lost . . . her work that we do have is a treasure chest of jazz and blues masterpieces . . . no one has ever sung like Billie, and no one ever will . . .

5. her song "Strange Fruit" sent chills up my spine when I heard it

and her songs about heartbreak always make me cry---especially the song "Solitude." No one can enunciate songs or imbue them with so much emotions like Billie Holiday did.

I went to the Blue Note club in New York City where she sang, and I kept wishing I'd been born 75 years earlier so I could see her sing in that jazz club.

Billie is definitely one of my favourite jazz vocalists...she comes in close to the top of the list, right behind Jimmy Scott (who you owe it to yourself to check out, if you've not heard him...he was HER favourite singer, btw) and maybe Nina Simone.


Oh, just a small suggestion...it would look a little better if the text were at the bottom of the frame right above the inner border, rather than right over her eyes, I think...
