1. When I was about 4 years old...

I caught a Manawar with my foot.

I don't hold that against the city. Ben a long time since I drove around the coastal bend.

This guy was scattered all over a section of the beach on Tuesday when we went to Padre Island National Seashore for some birding.

3. I don't blame the critter.

They are prettier than the ones that wash up in Galveston.

It's no longer a problem here on the west coast, but the water is coooold.

4. I figured you wouldn't blame it, just playing around :) - Me, I had to get

used to the warm water, I'm used to the North Atlantic, like up in Maine.

Padre is so beautiful. I miss driving around the highways of Texas. The woods to the east, the scrub oak around the bend. The hills around Kerrville. My wife and I used to buy a party platter and load into the car on a Friday and just drive in some direction out of Houston on a highway. When it got late we would find a motel and in the morning go exploring.

8. Yeah, but they're not very good. I have a "bridge" camera, and there

is something on the sensor that I can't get off since the lens isn't removable. Because of this, I've just been screwing around and using the digital zoom (before that, I'd stick to the 16.5x max Optical.)

Plovers are so exposed. They have problems out here as well due to all the people on he beaches.
