How old were you when you moved out of your parents home?
I was reading an article the other day how lots of adult children after college go back to live with their famailies well into their mid and upper 20's to save money.

1. 17...moved back in briefly when 20, then back out for good
Love 'em, but can't live with 'em. My dad and I are both bullheaded and too much alike. :-)

18. Same here, 'cept I would have a harder time living with my mom;
Daddy and I got along great. And now Mom may be coming to live with me, since Dad is gone, holy shit...this could get interesting *lol*
Love her dearly, but she's dingy as a doorbell.

Went back home to live and work for a sememster sophmore year, and my mother drove me out. I was 19.

My parents are born again. They used to be okay people before God came into it.

9. Which time???

I was 16 when I moved to a boarding school when I was living in South Korea and my folks moved back to Canada leaving me there for a few months on my own.
Then 19 the first time I went to college in Toronto. Got kicked out of college and worked for a few years until I screwed that up. Moved back home to "get my head together" before I moved out at 26 again, back to college, finishing this time and staying out in the wild up until now.

Left again @ 17 - they tried to involve the police, police said "nothing we can do, she's 17!"

Wish I could have done it sooner!

Well, I would have left much earlier, but folks insisted I stay at home and attend school in town...economics, that is. I told them at that point, the moment I graduated, I was going to get as far away from home as I could...and did...no regrets whatosever. I left home about 3 weeks after I graduated, except for a few extended visits, never stayed home with them.

34. I was 22. Right after I told my family I was gay.
A bit tense at the time, needless to say. Plus, I felt like it was time to move out on my own.

...it was 1992 before I got a steady job (which I still have) that enabled me to move out on my own.

I kept getting independent and that would have crap pop up that would mess everything up. Getting that degree finally made everything okay.

Now, thank God, I'm married and don't have to do this anymore. My mom and I would kill each other if we had to live together.
