What's with that?

1. Short version?
Its just trying to stay connected and grabs whatever is handy.

Slightly longer version.

What do you want to do about it? Most phones can be set to a 'no roaming' policy, but you risk missing some calls while it tries to find an un-occupied bit of your carrier to latch onto.

You know its roaming, so it is alerting you to it. Can you set the alert level higher? Maybe even block outgoing calls when roaming?

The stick on antennas can help sometimes, but instantly void your warranty and (most) insurance by making the phone work harder / hotter than it is strictly rated for.

or did I just post a sensible reply to a fun / get-it-off-your-chest thread?

4. Well, it wasn't really a problem, because I have a nationwide program

so I don't pay extra for roaming calls. At least I don't see a reason why it would've been a problem, but ya never know. Just in case, I did a little playing around with it just now. I went into "settings", then to "network", then to "roaming options". It was set to "automatic", I changed it to "home only". Went to the opening screen, and the "roaming" message and icon were gone. I went back to "roaming options", switched it back to "automatic", and then back to opening screen. The roaming message and icon are still gone, so that must've taken care of it.

Thanks for your help! Sensible replies are always appreciated!!
