Does anyone love living on the BAD side of town?
You know, mixture of Goths, Bohemians, Junkies, Poets (= unemployed), schizos and the like, with corner Dirty Spoons populated by cops & hookers.

Instead of the Burbs - potential graveyards.

In fact the burbs should include plots & headstones as part of the 3 - up, 3- down , 15 bathroom places I often see.

Just wondering?

5. I live near a Walmart
We live in a "nice" duplex near some "luxury" apartments and some new above averaged priced homes at the edge of town. A few blocks away though, there is a "shady" apartment complex where my next door neighbor's sister had her tires stolen off her car. A few blocks from that is a trailer park with trailers cheaper than our down payment on our car when we bought it new.
When I was growing up, I lived by a factory that owned our house and all the surrounding houses in case they needed to expand and across the street from one of my mother's probabtioners. All the kids played outside though.
Another time, we lived downtown where there were a number of people like those you mentioned. I delivered papers there and routinely had papers stolen and customers who couldn't or wouldn't pay. I was also threatened by a fighting couple who I was trying to collect from.
Really though there weren't any "bad" as in high crime areas in my small city of birth except the one apartment complex. Luckily they confined their crimes to themselves (mostly domestic and aquaintance violence).

8. I live one block from Highland Park
It might not be the bad side of Dallas, but it is certainly the dark side. Herr Cheney used to live 800 meters from me. That's how dark it is.

9. I live in a lower-income area of Wilmington
But definately not the bad section. But I love my roomie apartment that has a washer/dryer, dishwasher and garbage disposal. Plus we have an indoor pool that is heated and opened year round.

It's so worthy it!!!

Plus I found my love & joy scrounging through the dumpster: Abbie my beloved cat!! (btw, he's cleaned up quite nicely!!!)

10. Of course.
Except for the illegals, crime, noise, lack of shopping, poor schools and the prostitutes who jump in your car, its a wonderful place to live.

I have less than a year to pay off my house and I am so gone. My kids deserve better than this.
