Poll question: Do you love the sound of your own voice?
Uh-huh. Those of you who've worked in radio, or on stage, 'fess up.

You know you fall asleep better to the sound of your own soliloquy. You're not really counting sheep.

; )

19. Normally bass, but there's very little rock music written for the bass range.
Edited on Tue Feb-19-08 07:19 PM by DarkTirade
Thankfully I've got a fairly wide range. I'm not at my best or most comfortable up in the tenor 2 range, but I can handle it.

I just set up a myspace musician page, and that song's on there though. :P It's http://www.myspace.com/hughsullivanmusic">here if you wanna check it out. The song I linked to is Colorful, the second one on the playlist.

35. I usually played the instruments for those.
Edited on Tue Feb-19-08 07:24 PM by DarkTirade
I didn't have the time to join the madrigal choir at my college, just the Early Music Ensemble. I played soprano, alto and tenor recorder, and lute. I thought about trying viola da gamba, but for some reason it just didn't interest me that much.

I would have loved to join the madrigal singers, but the only semester I had the time to try out was first semester my freshman year, and the teacher didn't think I had quite the experience necessary.

43. Counting voice? 9.
Violin, guitar, bass, keyboard, soprano recorder, alto recorder, tenor recorder, lute and voice.

Oh, and I carved a little flute out of PVC. :P But since I used recorder fingerings for it, I don't think that counts as its own instrument. Only difference is that I had to learn how to make sound through a flute mouthpiece instead of a whistle mouthpiece.

I also have a crappy little ocarina that I bought at an airport giftshop... but I still haven't figured out the fingerings for it. :P

44. You're a wunderkind!!!
That's the biggest glaring gap in my education. I plan to remedy, especially given how much I love music.

If you could only have one if you were marooned, which instrument would you take with you?

45. Ooh... that's hard to decide.
Edited on Tue Feb-19-08 07:44 PM by DarkTirade
Am I marooned somewhere that has bamboo? If that's the case, I'd take my guitar with me probably, that way I can sing as I play. Then I could carve my own wind instruments out of bamboo. :P

And I don't know if I'd call myself a wunderkind... I think for that I'd have to be good at everything. :P I really should play my violin more often though. That was my primary instrument, but when I dropped out of college I stopped playing. Now I can barely stay in tune when I shift. :(

5. My dear CorpGovActivist!
Yup, I love the sound of my own voice...

I remember the first time I heard a recording of me...

I was in college, and had a French major...

I had to practice in a language lab, and to do that, I recorded myself.

Wow...that was my voice?

I know I blushed...

I'd had no idea at all...

Ever since then...well, what can I say?

It has given me confidence!

You have yet to hear me speak...so you have no idea...;)

recorded. I've been asked if I've done radio or TV, and no, neither, and I have no problem with TALKING in front of others; just don't ask me to listen to it again! I always thought I had a "weird" voice, and people look at me funny when I say that. I don't know what it is, but I hate it.

did a live in the studio rockabilly recording about 8 years ago, that has about 8 songs (out of 20) that I actually don't think I sound too bad, and still listen to occasionally...( and then obsess about the handful of bad notes in those 8)
