Has there been a boost in membership recently?

I just joined DU last month and I consider myself to be a newbie around here, but I see many people with fewer posts than I have. Has there been a big boom lately now that the campaign is heating up?

I do think membership is up, but I'm sure there are others more qualified than I to verify that.

I'd say there was a boost in early December something like 2 weeks after Rush mentioned DU on his show

4. I would say yes, a noticeable boost in membership and probably

in the number of lurkers. I've turned everyone I know on to this site(the ones who get it) for the last two years. My mom tells all her friends. I shared it with some Brazilians and they emailed the site to everyone they knew. So, yes, the word is getting around. I lurked for the better part of two years before jumping on. I feel like I'm missing something if I don't tune in here. Even the fun stuff from the lounge is pretty captivating (usually). Most of the posters here are smart and funny and compassionate. They're also disgusted with the misleadership and want to be around others who share that.

5. Remember: Post count doesn't equal membership length

Thinking like that leads to baseless freeper and "newbie troll" accusations.

I've been here for a couple years now and have YET to crack the 700 post mark :)

I've been here for years and look at my post count. Some of us browse, read, stay informed but don't chat much.

7. I know that du is showing up in some weird places

mainly freeper posts on different boards, one is actually surprizing cause it's just myself and possibly 6 other dems against a bunch of reps or one guy with amazing multiple handles. du rocks tho.
