Ah! Crazy dilema!
Okay as some of you are aware of the job problems I am currently going through... I still have not been notified of who is going to be brought in as new editor. I was discussing this with a collegue the other day and told her I may be planning to get a new job if they bring in the half-wit I think they are. Well, she emailed me today and said their sister paper is looking for an editor and she put in a good word for me and I would probably get the job if I took them my portfolio. Now, here's the rub. I don't know yet if I want to leave this place. ANd An editor job is a huge repsonsibility that I don't know I want to take. A few months ago I would have...but now, after being just the reporter for a couple months, I realize how much I have to learn.

I'm also worried if I don't go after this job it will be a mistake, having editor on a resume is a sure fire way to land a bitchin reporter job down the road.

What do you folks think?

4. good point - I just wish I knew
What my publisher was doing about an editor. I don't wanna bail on him but I don't wanna work with the twit.

Then of course this other job is THREE hours from Vancouver! The town itself is no fun - but THREE HOURS!

6. I just decided I am
I just got into a yelling match with our secretary. SHe is a fucking miserable bitch and is part of the reason our editor quit. She finks on everyone up here...while she smokes at here desk, takes long lunch breaks and leaves early when it is just me here.

I'm not working with the bitch, I'm a VERY nice guy and easy to get along with. The other reporter is jumping ship too. ANd I think they'll bring in this terrible editor...all signs are pointing towards "Get the fuck out!"

7. Good call man. Proactive people reap the rewards (usually)
Life's what you make it (and other cliches). Seriously, it's a no-win situation, and you should move on. Would it involved moving town?

8. Oh yeah
I'm heading to my editors for a beer after work. I think he's gonna basically tell me things are gonna get real bad so if I want happiness I should go.

I will be moving back to BC at least.
