Advice?..wondering if cordless mouse is broken or misused?
I installed a fellowes cordless optical mouse on a dell inspiron 5100 running xp. It worked for a couple days, now it won't drive the pointer although the wheel and the right button work.

What can go wrong with these things?...is it something about the nut pushing the mouse around the mouse pad, or does this sound like an early product failure?

I have contacted their techsupport...I am waiting for reply...
probably will be until the GE.

3. Tailless mouse?
Do you have windows 98 or XP?

Have you tried changing out the batteries?

Have you tried shutting down the computer completely?

Have you tried unplugging from computer then plugging back in?

5. I've tried most everything suggested, thanks to all...
warm boot, cold boot, uninstalled and reinstalled the software, tried to select different channels, etc.

I have done a battery recharge, but didn't replace the batteries.

Maybe thats the next step.

Thanks

6. OK - I'll be serious now - if it's "distance" you need, extensions are
.
.

available

they are called "PS2 extensions" and range from 6 to 25 feet.

and are around 6 to 12 bucks depending on length

I bought a couple so that when changing keyboards or mices, (mouses?) I didn't hafta dig in behind my 'puter (it's "buried")

Was well worth the 12 bucks I spent for the two of them
