I like cats better than dogs...
Cats are mysterious...you ALWAYS know what a dog is thinking...cats keep you guessing

My cats are always happy to see me when I come home...they run to greet me at the door

When you wnat quiet time, they are ready to oblige

They are so freaking cute!

1. "you ALWAYS know what a dog is thinking"

You have obviously never met a terrier! :D

a cat could be thinking about Salt II.

4. Actually, biologically speaking it's more likely that dogs
Edited on Wed Feb-13-08 08:12 PM by SallyMander
have complex "thoughts" -- since there is a positive correlation between a species' sociality and its cognitive development.

:hi:

Edit to add -- this is relevant because dogs are pack animals evolutionarily, while cats are not.

21. dogs can been trained to do all sorts of things...
Edited on Wed Feb-13-08 09:28 PM by pokerfan
guard/protect, herd, hunt, search/rescue, detect contraband and other substances, assist the seeing and hearing-impaired. They can perform circus tricks, learn obedience etc.

All cats do is lay around and get pampered.

It's obvious that this a clear sign of the superiority of the feline intellect over its canine counterpart.

intelligent that animal is!!!!:hi:

7. Man, honestly I wish I knew
He's 14 freakin' years old and all of a sudden, we're calling him Sir Barkalot!

He had throat surgery last spring so he doesn't actually make any noise when he barks which makes it all the more amusing but dang, we're guessing every time (us: ok, let's check the list - he's been out, he's been fed, we're both in the room... wtf else does a dog need in life!?)

When he starts up again tomorrow, I'll give the "wrassling" idea a try. Ok, well, maybe not wrestling - 14 year old dogs don't really wrestle well but hey - maybe he does want to play. ("you don't stop playing because you grow old, you grow old because you stop playing." and all that... :] )

Thanks! :hi:

8. Awww, i love old poochies

What kind is he? I grew up with a lab mix who lived to be almost 16 -- sweetest dog EVAH! :D

You just have to wrassle a bit more gently.

10. LOL - he's all Lab - think "Marley and Me"
but MUCH better behaved!!! Oh heck, here's his pic:

This was after the throat surgery last spring - you can see where he's been shaved and he's being spoon fed. (Didn't take him long to figure out how *that* worked!)

He's my bestest bud - a mere 92 lbs now (down from 112 top) so 14 is ridiculously old. We figure there's a little senility setting in but who can tell - he was always a bit on the wacky side - he IS a lab after all. ;)

I love all dogs too - can't walk by one without saying hello - prefer them to people really.

And this one is just so unbearably good. Oh, and he loves me to pieces. The feeling's mutual. :)

18. Sorry - didn't mean to hijack your thread - personally I swing both ways ;)
I love 'em both. Cats are awesome and the hardest loss I've ever faced was losing my 18 month old kitten 2 years ago at Christmas.

Just had to take exception with the "you always know what dogs are thinking" since mine was sitting here right that second barking at me for no apparent reason - timing is everything. :)

Of course, your OP is useless without pictures! ;) Flaunt 'em if you got 'em!!

(Oh, and I didn't see that "dogs are the best" until just now... Sorry.)

...he's a brat, but he's too funny to stay annoyed with for long.

If the first picture included more of my living room, you'd see a large stuffed Eeyore sitting in an armchair. He's my favorite philosopher. I really appreciate your quoting him!

whatever it sees. It's a really great saying, and I know I've blown it, but you get the idea.
