1. apparently it's legal to marry the dead in Louisiana anyways...

...if you're rich enough. A gold-digger in St. Bernard Parish was
left tens if not hundreds of millions of dollars by her lover, which is fine as far as it goes, but he obviously didn't marry the woman nor have any interest in marrying her in all the years they were together...some time after he died she somehow got a court order to have herself named as his wife. So this was a literally a case where a woman married a dead man who never chose to marry her in life. Basically she purchased the judge by donating millions to the parish. Tacky if you ask me.

2. What an in-law problem that must be

Dead person's regular next-of-kin disinherited after the fact. I mean if there's an inheritance involved it must be pretty tense. :shrug:
