1. I didn't see Atonement but There Will be Blood is very good.

Its not as political as I expected it to be but still very good.

Nary a bad word about it.

DD Lewis was outstanding


Atonement was frigging awful.

5. bad acting, weak direction, ineffective script

vanessa redgrave was terrific; the actress who played the older Briony was good; the scene between Briony and the dying French soldier was excellent; important story elements got short shrift because the wasted so much time early in the movie.

Everything else was either laughably inept or b-o-r-i-n-g
