I honestly don't have anything to say tonight, but I have a rant.

I honestly don't have anything to say tonight, but I have a rant.
I have a headache and just learned that the broken CD-ROM that came with my text book for the college did not contain Access 2003 program and the teacher is taking 5 points off per day including the weekend. Plus her attitude was hateuful as hell about it.

I guess that's going to be a zero, because I'm going to shoot an email back saying just give me a 0 on the first one and I'll go steal Access 2003 somewhere online. I'll just wait and catch up with the second assignment if and when I find the software. We can't use Access 2007 for the assignments.

I used to love college, but now it's starting to really get on my nerves and interfere with things I really want to do in life. Getting the degree did nothing. I've learned more by going thru tutorials online than in taking some of these useless classes. I might not renew my Pell Grant this fall if these "online" classes keep making me go to the school to do the work. They should not say they are online classes if they are not.

If anyone wants to reply to this, it's cool, but I really just wanted to put this in my journal so I can document my dwindling respect for this college and some of the teachers there. Funny, most of the teachers are good to work with if your mother just had fucking surgery and you couldn't make it to the school one day, but could another day. The book store just got the damn text books in 3 weeks into the semester too. I know this is all jumbled up and missing some very important points, but so am I tonight. I'm just in pain and sick and tired of flogging this dead horse known as community college in a town where our only major employer is Wal fucking Mart.

Damn, this doesn't belong in the Lounge.

Let's change the point of this message to be:

Who wants a "Rants and Raves" forum or group on DU? Isn't it like 10 "yes" votes to get one? I'm sure many of us could use it, or is that just me that likes to go the fuck off every once in a while not particularly aimed at anyone, but just to rant and vent?

:silly:   :hangover:

I'll take 2 Valiums, 3 Darvocets, 3 Xanax, 2 Ambien, and some Tylenol, if anyone is willing to offer them up to calm my ass down and make this headache go away while I go face the hacker sites because Richmond Community College lies about "online" classes. grrrrrr...

1. If the instructor is impossible, maybe just withdraw from the class.
I wouldn't fuck up your "cume" over it.

2. The rules about withdrawing are that we have to wait
until the 60% mark of the semester or we get an F in the class. I wish I could. I sooo would if I could.

I do wish they would quit claiming that classes are "online" classes if you need software from 5 years ago to do it. I do not have Access 2007 on my computer, but I'm NOT buying Access 2003 for just one class, when Access 2007 is available now. If I have to buy it, I'm not going to be happy to have to pay again to upgrade to 2007. That would be ridiculous.

Granted, I could go to the school to do the work, but that's not the point. The point is they said it was an online class. This is the second class I have taken "online" that turned out to NOT be an online class. That school has been annoying me for ages now. I think I really do need a Xanax...or an extra high blood pressure pill.
