1. Hard to say
Psycho was great, but each genre/generation seems to have it's standout. This is one my all-time favorites, considering the year it was made.

Frankenstein (1931)

12. Agreed.
While the others in the series evolved into sci-fi action movies, Alien was an awesome blend of science fiction and horror.

7. Not a horror fan, but I do like that movie...
...it has the best use of nepotism in a movie...Alfred's daughter playing the plain secertary..."He must have seen my ring."

10. Wolf Creek
The most terrifying film I've ever seen. The first 45 minutes of the film introduce the audience to the victims and make you kinda like them. Then, when they get massacred by this back woods madman..........well you really feel for them.

Masterpiece of the horror genre I tell ya........

...which is always preferable to graphic and in-your-face.
