8. No I didn't see it; it is HIGH-larious. I like the term "badvertising". Reminds me of
Bad Idea™ jeans.

7. Hey, thanks; I just created it a few nights ago. It is my first ever attempt at such
a venture, and it wobbles too much, but it gets the idea across. ;) :hi:

3. When I was 16, I walked into my first Kosher deli...
Edited on Thu Jan-31-08 07:05 PM by Kutjara
...with my new Jewish girlfriend, eager to prove, I suppose, that I was "down with the Yids." I strode up to the counter and loudly ordered a "ham sandwich with mayo, on white bread." The deli-man looked at me, then at my girlfriend, then back at me, before saying to her, "you haven't had him long, have you?" She just laughed and said, "what a Goy."

Not my finest hour.

6. You get something of a "pass" on those,
as it's probably better to order up a ham sandwich than it is to order up corned beef or pastrami and ask for mayo, on anything other than rye, or both.

9. To my shame, I did once order...
...pastrami with mayo on white. At Katz's Deli in NYC. I thought half the place was going to die laughing.

10. Reminds me of an old joke.
A guy takes his friend into a kosher deli for lunch. A Chinese waiter approaches the table, and in perfect Yiddish asks them what they'll have. The men are astounded, and after lunch ask the owner where he found an Asian guy that was fluent in Yiddish. "Shhhhhh!" the balebos says, "He thinks he's learning English!"

You, sir, are a barbarian, and I'd be proud to raise a little hell with you should the opportunity present itself.

11. I love it!
And given some of the guys I've met running kosher delis around the world, I could see that happening.
