Here's a story about a guy with a lucky number.
Steve Davis was born at 5 AM May 5th, 1955, and grew up in a house at 555 5th Street.

He went to PS. 55 as a child, went to Brown for 5 years to get his MA, then graduated and landed a job on 5th Avenue in New York City. He married a woman who was 5 ft 5 inches tall, and moved into the 5th floor of a Manhattan apartment building. Together, they had 5 children.

On his 50 birthday, he read in the newspaper that there was a horse named "Lucky Number Five" in the running at Saratoga. Sure enough, it was running in the 5th race of the afternoon, at approximately 5:55 PM.

Steve took a cab to the track, went to the window, and promptly placed $5,555.55 on "Lucky Number Five" to win, confident that the luck of his magical number would pay off.

And he was right....

.

.

.

Sure enough, the horse finished fifth.

1. After which, no doubt, Steve also
finished a fifth

Funny they didn't mention that his phone number was 555-1212 (which it was).
