If it has a roller ball take it out and use alcohol. Works like a charm.

Seriously, there is no brand name on this thing. But, it works pretty well. I think I bought it at some big electronics chain store.

I'd go out and buy a couple of inexpensive optical mice and put one in a drawer for a backup.

I love my cheap-ass GE optical mouse, bought at Target for 25 bucks.

Now, I can understand how, during some inexplicable blackout, gum could get into a mouse.

What I cannot comprehend is how IT IS NOW IN YOUR KEYBOARD.

That simply shrieks of carelessness.

Keyboards can be bought for $10. Perhaps you should also get in a supply of them.
