AT&T Sucks...
they have screwn my bill up since I moved in here to my apartment.

They bundled and unbundled my bill. They told me clearly I had no DSL service here so I got cable internet.

I dropped my ATT wireless contract because another company made more sense, and paid that bill off.

So today I called because my bill still didn't look right. Well it wasn't.

We straightened that out and then they tried to sell me ATT wireless which I told them i had just dropped.

They tried to sell me DSL and said that "yes you should be able to get DSL in your apartment" :wtf:

I think they finally are just charging me for the service I actually have with them. All in one bill...

end rant

1. Lemme tell you about my one experience with them...

I had a phone through another company. But I had no long distance. So when I was looking for something simple, I didn't make many long-distance calls, and AT&T seemed to have the best deal for me at the time.

So I signed up.

A month later, I got the first bill in the mail. Something like 3 dollars, nothing big. But there was one problem: I still didn't have long distance service. So I called the number listed on the bill to call if I had any issues.

It was all computerized. And since my long distance hadn't been connected yet... there was no way to get to a live person. They'd ask the phone number associated with the account, and when I typed it in they'd say I didn't have any of their services and hang up on me.

This kept going for several months. I kept getting bills, little tiny bills adding up. Late fees for those bills because I hadn't paid them. I keep calling them every time I get a bill, and still I'm not even in their computer. One day someone from AT&T calls me, to ask why I haven't paid my bill. I told him. He looked at his computer records and said, "That's odd. I can see we've been billing you since you signed up... but it looks like you've only just been connected three days ago."

The really ironic bit: I still didn't have working long distance. So even though the computer FINALLY listed me as being connected, I wasn't. Long story short, I canceled the service and they canceled any and every charge on my bill.

Except the next month I got another bill.

A bill for -23 cents.

They'd miscalculated. Subtracted too much. So for the next four months, I got a bill saying I owed them -23 cents. Until finally their computers decided to send me a check. For 23 cents. At the time stamps cost somewhere around 30 cents.

So yeah... it was frustrating at the time. But boy can I look back and laugh at their incompetence now...

I had my phone service through the local company with AT&T long distance. The first month, the bill was wrong. They were charging us about $2 a minute for long distance. I called the local phone company, who sent the combined bill, and they said they'd "take care of it". I did not pay the disputed charges at that time. Next month, same thing happened. I called AGAIN to ask WTF was going on. This time, I got the name of the person I spoke with and wrote a letter to the phone co. and AT&T. No response. Next month rolled around, and the same bullshit happened AGAIN. I called AT&T, and they said it was the local company's fault. I called the phone co., and they said it was AT&T's fault. x( I asked to speak to a supervisor, and the supervisor said they were having issues with AT&T but she couldn't contact them herself. I called AT&T and asked for a supervisor, and I asked the supervisor to PLEASE call Mrs. Such-and-Such at the phone company. Nope, couldn't do that. After getting the total runaround for over three months, I got so frustrated that I called the local TV station and requested the consumer watchdog's assistance. Because that TV station was buddy-buddy with the phone company and didn't want the bad press, they had it resolved for me in a day and that story never made it to the air.

I promptly got rid of AT&T, and as soon as I could get rid of the local phone co., I did. I've got digital phone now with flat-rate long distance, and I love it. :D
