10. Hard to imagine it's only 20 minutes from Las Vegas
Lots of people were biking and running. Must be neat to have that in your backyard.

15. my high school held their graduation on the stage of Red Rocks!
Lakewood High School- it was about 10 miles from my high school. I love Red Rocks- I've been up there for umpteen concerts and every summer for their Films on the Rocks- a late release film preceded by a live local band and a comedian. Way cool!

13. Underscores & hyphens in filenames
Often cause pix not to show here. This is true with Photobucket, and apparently with Kodak as well.

21. It was kind of like being on another planet
When I texted pics back to my gf she said it looked like I was on Mars. And there were people climbing on the rocks too.

22. Beautiful.Our Southwestern canyon country is truly unique. Australia has
Edited on Mon Jan-28-08 09:16 AM by argyl
some lovely redrock country but it doesn't quite compare to this spectacular region of ours that begins in Northwestern New Mexico and Southwestern Colorado, extends through Northern Arizona and Southern Utah and terminates in Southern Nevada.

Southern Utah is my personal favorite area,if forced to pick. Five National Parks and the incredibly rugged Escalante Plateau area. Zion is the Park I feel best represents the area and I've recommended it to a number of people who rave about it when they get back.

But Northern Arizona has The Canyon, a sight so awe inspiring it may very well knock you to your knees and pray to a God you may not believe exists.

I've been there many times and am going again from mid April to early May.I hope I never get so jaded that I can't get jazzed up about seeing this country yet again.

And I've been to your gorgeous Red Rocks Canyon more than once. Thank you for your beautiful pictures.
