I'm watching "Stardust Memories" for the 1st time and
it sucks out loud.

I'm neither fan nor foe of Woody Allen but seriously, this one is craptastic.

If this had been the first Allen film I'd been exposed to, I'd probably actively avoid his films. Fortunately it wasn't.

1. Seen it a few times; gets better each viewing.
I'd give it 3 out of 4 stars.

2. Yikes.
I might have to watch it a whole lot then.

I was reading about it some on the 'net and learned it was despised by the critics and his fans, for the most part. No surprise there.

3. Some interesting comments on the cult of celebrity.
One scene in particular when during a dream Woody is shot by a fan; SM was release in Sept 1980 and of course a few months later John Lennon was shot by a fan. This is one of the reasons I've seen it several times and felt it's gotten better over the years; not his best but certainly not his worst.

4. I agree
it's not one of his better efforts. But don't give up on Woody. "The Mighty Aphrodite", "Annie Hall" and "Radio Days" as well as "Manhattan" are excellent movies
