Movies featuring Chicago?
Risky Business
The Blues Brothers
Ferris Bueller's Day Off
My Best Friend's Wedding
Ocean's Eleven

Others? Friend of mine is from there and I'm trying to find a DVD that she doesn't already have.

25. "Thief" with James Caan? From 1981?
Haven't seen it but I'm gonna check it out.

Checked imdb and Chicago is the only filming location so that helps too.

I tried searchng imdb for films with Chicago filming location and it returned 1657 hits. :(

Thanks to everyone who contributed so far.

24. Tommy Boy?
I'm looking for films that "feature" Chicago, as in lots of exterior shots. I don't even see Illinois on this list:

18. Stranger Than Fiction. It's not obvious to anyone but a Chicagoan, at least until
you watch the extras. They tried to make it look like Everycity USA but native/long-time Chicagoans can pick it out. Plus it's a great movie. I wasn't expecting to like and I really did.

Or am I delusional?

:)

ETA: I'm sane--it's all about U of C, and even includes Northwestern references as well. Two Chicago-area schools for the price of one! :D

38. "The Hunter" starring Steve McQueen
The movie has a scene where a car is driven off the parking garage of one of the Marina City buildings into the Chicago River. Marina City is the twin buildings that look like salt and pepper shakers.

My uncle lived for years there and it was just so cool at the time.

'Glengarry Glen Ross'

The movie with the best 'feel' of Chicago is 'The Fugitive'. At least from my perspective.
