Do you ever start to reply to a post, then realize "This is crap"?

You know, you jump in a thread, have all sorts of ideas flowing around in your head, start to type, get about halfway thru and realize, "Bah, I got nothing."

...usually, it's when I try to post something that I realize is nearly impossible to back up. I'll slam on the the ol' "BACKSPACE" button, all the while thinking "Okay, Counselor... You're really asking to be flamed on this one..."

Had my thoughts perfectly in order, so I supposed. And then came off sounding like a shrill nutcase. Which I am, but on the radio? Cringe. I'm using a fake moniker next time.

And I have posted here what I thought at the time was witty, incisive repartee'. Checking it later: mean-spirited, intellectually foggy, error-ridden crap.

Part of this is not MY FAULT. Great features on this site allowing editing. and editing. Then spell-checking. By the time I fixed some of those posts to the point of absolute perfection, they were like a really bad improvisational casserole. A good idea to begin with, but the execution truly stunk.

To y'alls credit, I only got called down 2 or 3 times, politely and gently. Thanks for the mercy.

Now, this thread will die (another of my peculiar gifts).
