So many people coming out against bicyclists.

I really don't know why I hang out over there anymore.

You know, the only bicyclists I have a beef with are idiot kids who ride their damn bikes on the wrong side of the road.

why so many motorists have such a deep-seated hatred of bicyclists. I've had people in cars scream at me, throw shit at me, swerve at me, all when I was riding in a bike lane, legally, not blocking the car lanes in any way whatsoever. What is UP with that, anyway?

I still chuckle remembering one fellow who thought he was a scintillating wit leaning out the passenger window of some jacked-up POS and yelling, "Get a car!" to which I yelled, "Try getting off your fat ass!" The car coughed, choked, and broke down about two blocks later and left four ugly trolls standing there stranded and looking stupid in the middle of traffic. Schadenfreude is bad, schadenfreude is bad, I have to keep reminding myself of that.

I think I like that better than seeing the little red sports car that had run up my tailpipe at 100 mpg on the interstate in Tennessee -- later sitting on the side of the road, having been pulled over by a state trooper.

8. oops... um, clarification -- MPH

I didn't get hit. I was tooling along at about 70-75 in a Toyota Tercel. Looked in the rearview mirror just in time to see a little red speck behind me grow to a whole sports car in about five seconds. To me, that's running right up my tailpipe. Scared the bejeebers outta me!

The car stayed there, right on my tail, for a few seconds before passing me. (No one was in the other lane.) It's my guess the sports car was going 100 MPH.

I guess the trooper's radar verified it. Heheheheee....

I think the reason so many drivers are assholes to cyclists in this country is for the following reasons.

1. We are forever married to our cars.
2. In this country, We give drivers liscenses to people who would not even qualify to take the written test in most of Europe.
3. Gasoline is relativley cheap.

I don't know about any other cities but in mine so many of the bike couriers are complete assholes. There's this whole clique of them and they are a bunch of cokeheads-- and did I mention that they are assholes?
I saw one blow his nose on a guys car because the driver almost hit the courier who had in fact run the red light. I also dated one for about a month--nothing but cocaine and bullshit. Never again.

My husband sometimes frequents a site that has amateurs sending in pictures of themselves. Most of the regulars are either nice to the ladies who are kind enough to share their nekkidness with strangers, or they keep their mouths shut if the pictures aren't to their taste. You can always pick out the kids who've not seen an actual bare mammary since they grew teeth - they're the ones who're hypercritical of any perceived flaw. I figure it's because the only women they're used to seeing pictures of are perfect plastic 18-year-old Barbies who've been heavily retouched and airbrushed. Boy, are actual living, breathing women gonna come as a disappointment! We sweat, we sometimes have freckles and moles, most of us haven't had surgery to make ourselves look like mannequins. You can't retouch real life.

(The regulars at that site jump all over the kids who do that, because the negative comments usually make the criticized ladies decline to post any more pictures.)
