My date when surprisingly well.
I really expected it to be dreadful. Thought we'd have nothing in common. My last two relationships were with women, so I'd begun to think I couldn't relate to men (and that maybe my friends are right--that calling myself "bi" is just denial). So, I was nervous and pessimistic. And wrong.

It went well. I thought it was cute that we started out by going to a spaghetti dinner to support a local high school band that he sometimes plays drums with and tutors percussionists for. We started a good conversation there.

He told me that his happiest times were when he was living in a tiny town in Kansas, in the middle of nowhere. I told him that MY happiest times were when I was living in a tiny town in Iowa, in the middle of nowhere. He talked about going birding in conservation areas near there. I told him about my birding excursions along the Boone and Des Moines Rivers. OMG!! We have things in common!!

Then we went to see "the Bucket List" (I was polite enough to not tell him I had seen it on my own earlier in the week). Then to a coffee house for more conversation. He talked about marathons he's run. I talked about the vegan beagle. We talked for a long time. It was nice.

He asked if he could ask me out again. I said "yes".

It went well.

1. You're home way too early, young lady!
Glad it went well, tho, and that you do have things in common. :hi:

9. That I did.
People are shy about approaching people in my profession where other things are concerned. Boundaries, ya know!! :)

Will you practice crossing all the boundaries you learned in boundaries training?
