I just tried to send a copy of DU's Top Ten to a friend on AOL ...
who had requested information from liberal websites. The email was returned immediately with the following note:

"Your message was rejected by mailin-03.mx.aol.com for the following reason:

TRANSACTION FAILED: (HVU:B1) The URL contained in your email to AOL members has generated a high volume of complaints. Per our Unsolicit"

:argh:

AOL/Time/Warner: Back to the future: 1984

2. Just copy the text and send it
It's just our "filtered society" in action..

Maybe we all need to send complaints for all the free republic junk and those Clinton e-mails.

message board recently and I was rejected cause they didn't like my ISP, which I don't much like either but it's the only game in town right now. It surprised me too. Free country? What free country?

9. Friends don't let friends use AOL.
Why pay 23 bucks a month for what you can get for 10 bucks and avoid all that bullshit?

15. Did you send it plain text? That seems to work.
Still, why are they censoring the mail?

14. AOL's software entwined itself onto my hard disk
so thoroughly that when I dropped it, pieces of it kept popping up unexpectedly. I finally had to reinstall my operating system software to rid myself of it.

Anyone who uses AOL, get rid of it, because it's not worth the price and it often causes crashes that wouldn't happen with other ISPs. Now that it appears AOL is practicing censorship for the Fuhrer, it is an even better reason to dump them while you still have a choice.

16. So...they're "reading" your email...
get rid of them. Drop them like a bad habit. Anyone who won't let you send your own private email to someone because of a link or whatnot shouldn't get your business. They wouldn't get mine, that's for sure.

19. This makes no sense!!!
I could see them blocking your email if you were sending it to say 2dozen AOL addresses because they could come back and consider this spam.

But why would they do this for an individual email. This is invasion of privacy.
