Owners of 1960s cars check in here.
I have a 1965 Chevelle 300 Deluxe.

No radio
No a/c
No clock
3-speed on the column

My kids are amazed the windshield-wipers have only one speed.

I originally bought it to restore. That was 22 years ago. I now drive it as our family "second car." It's so riddled with rust and rust-holes that I don't think it can be restored.

It looks like this (same color, too!)

I'm thinking of having two bumper stickers made for it:

The car may be old but the rust is new

My other car was made in this century

3. Wow!!! Those are nice cars!
I had a roommate during the mid-1970s who had a 1967 Impala.

It looked something like this:

We cruised everywhere in that auto!

You've posted this photo before, I believe. If I recall correctly, you do a lot of your own work.

That's one sweeeeeet-looking auto!

Thanks for posting! :)

6. I used to own a 1965 Ford Falcon.

If was really cold I had to place cardboard in front of the radiator so the water would get hot enough to blow hot air.

I could see the road through the floorboard in the back.

I could rotate the tires myself. And I cleaned and gapped my spark plugs regularly because I used leaded fuel. Did my own oil/filter changes.

7. "I could see the road through the floorboard in the back."
This sounds familiar. My floors are so rusted-out that I use the floormats to keep things from falling out on to the roadway...:(

1969 Pontiac Catalina 4-door sedan. Had the beak in the front and the drooping tail lights. I miss that car. :(
