what a way to start the day!! DOGS!!
my 9 y.o. terrier, one of 4 dogs, got my day going at 8:30 this morning with a HUGE seizure! like 20 minutes worth. nothing like pulling your clothes on. dragging your teenager out of bed and rushing off to the vet's instead of sitting down with that second cup of coffee. she is fine, no real reason that they could find. she seems like she might have some sort of mild infection somewhere, so she is on a broad spectrum antibiotic. we are supposed to keep a log of any other events, and take her back in 2 weeks. she is being a little clingy, which is not really like her. poor baby.
the best part is that i came home 3 hours later, $350 lighter, and one of the other, obviously upset, terriers had peed on my heating pad! (not feeling well. i need that sucker.)
man. at least the teenager was pleasant. mostly because he is trying to talk me into getting him a reptile of some sort for his b-day, and figured this vet was just the guy to get on his side. (does exotics of all kinds.)

so, how is your day going?

1. I had similar trouble a year ago with one of mine.
He had 7 seizures one weekend and then another several days later. However, they lasted only a couple of minutes each. To make a very long story short, I ended up changing his food, pulled him off the medication (with vet approval) and since the food change he hasn't had another one. I have 2 other dogs and neither of them had a problem, just the male. Just something for you to consider. Good luck - I know it's scary when it happens.

2. i wonder about this dog. she is 9, not that old for a little dog, but
she is pretty gray already. a friend of mine had a mini fox that had premature aging. she died at 14, frail, blind, deaf, kidneys failing, heart failing. like she was 20.
they are all healthy as can be, tho. hardly see the vet. oy.
