February 9, 1964- "Ladies and Gentleman...The Beatles..."
40 years ago today, The Beatles first appeared on The Ed Sullivan Show. Okay, it was 8 years and 9 days before I was born, but their music is timeless. What's your favorite Beatles' song? Or more than one (I couldn't pick just one).

I'd have to say, my favorites are:

She Loves You
If I Fell
Hello, Goodbye
Paperback Writer
Please, Please me
In My Life
Here Comes the Sun
Octopus's Garden
Revolution
Penny Lane
We Can Work it Out
and
P.S. I Love You

I'd make it a poll, but there's too many wonderful songs.

8. I was a small kid in training pants
Edited on Mon Feb-09-04 02:12 AM by Lostmessage
I remember having a pacifier in my mouth and I had my hands in my hair playing with my curls. It's something that I use to do when I was a kid.

My Sister was in front of the TV screaming John, John or something like that.

I had my baby Pug dog by my side and I was topless and in a cloth diaper at the time.

I remember the whole thing.

My Mom was going nuts over them as well and she was going crazy over Paul.

Favorite Songs

Elanore Ridgby (song is about me)
You've got to hide your love away
Paperback Writer
Across the Universe

14. "Here Comes the Sun" is kind of an anthem for Fairbanks!
It would be easier for me to name the songs I don't particularly like. "In My Life" is one of the best songs ever written!

My guy:

All we are saying..........is give peace a chance.

16. I am a child of the sixties.
I was 15 when they appeared on Sullivan.

To me, Lennon's "Imagine" sums up the entire experience of the sixties.

20. I remember that night
I can still see it as if it happened yesterday. We watched it on the old black and white Zenith. When the camera went to them, I started screaming and scared the bejeebers out of everyone in the room, including myself!

I laugh at myself now because I was such a Beatlemaniac, and Paul was my favorite. Judy Bridgewater and I always argued which part of Paul we'd share.

When "Hard Days Night" came out, Judy and I conned all the neighbor kids out of their pop bottles so we could cash them in to go to the show. It cost a whopping 65 cents.

Of all the songs they have written - well, there are way too many fond memories of varying songs that I can't really chose. But if I had to chose just one, it would be 'Imagine', because that song has had a strong influence on me as a thinking person.
