A heartwarming story from my Dad
Just got off the phone with my Dad and he told me this story about young people marching from Maine to California in the name of peace and for Kucinich. My Dad lives in Kingman, Az. He said a group of young people whom he labled as " very intelligent" had walked into town on their way to California all the way from Maine. They were on their way to Vegas and then on to California. They said that they were averaging 25 miles a day :wow: and that every town they stopped in, with no prior plans for lodging, people were offering lodging to them in private homes. My Mom hosted a gathering for them in Kingman! He said that these young people were so engerized! Hope floats! Still think ya won't lose, eh, Georgie?

1. I met them once
when they were back here in Oklahoma.

They stayed the night and were off the next day.

Had they stopped in San Antonio, I would have let them stay with me!

3. They stayed with me
In my home. I had a gathering of about 10 and a dinner here. It was very small because this is Kansas and hardly anyone has even heard of DK or cares about walkers for peace. The Dem party wanted nothing to do with it and it was like pulling teeth to get press coverage. BUT I gathered a group and we had a nice time. They are wonderful people, they stayed the night and I dropped them off at their starting place the next morning after a wonderful talk over breakfast. Good people. It was very renewing. I am so glad I did it.
