AOL Removes Bush From 'Miserable Failure' Search Results
http://www.dmnews.com/cgi-bin/artprevbot.cgi?article_id=26428
Clip from Article:
The "Google bomb" of President Bush ran into a roadblock recently when AOL removed a link to his biography that appears on Google searches for "miserable failure." AOL did not remove links to the Web sites of prominent Democrats such as filmmaker Michael Moore, Sen. Hillary Clinton and former President Jimmy Carter that also appear on searches.
AOL, which displays search results by Google, said it removed the link to Bush's Web site under its policy to take out obviously irrelevant results.

Why are people even still using AOL!? They have proven over and over how much they suck! UGH...and AOL For Broadband? Give me a F#%*ing break.

2. AOL is the devil
They're like telephone scam artists who prey on old people. No self-respecting DUer should ever use AOL.

4. AOL is horrible...

The service sucks, they use predatory billing, and they are GOP asskissers.

It's basically legalized robbery...

I don't think people really choose to use them, they just get suckered into it and they keep getting billed. They should be prosecuted for their billing practices.

6. I can't wait for DSL to arrive so I can ditch them
I have compuserve, but AOL owns them. I dislike compuserve for connectivity reasons (frequent idle messages and disconnects, even if data's being accessed. :eyes: )

Their India support staff are pretty banal in quality; reading from arranged script cards very badly - and it's remarkably easy (and almost fun) to get them riled.

I had a tiff because I had to reactivate my account. It wouldn't work over the net even though the bank said the transaction HAD gone through successfully. I rtied twice and feared they got two extra payments. I tried explaining this to Mr. India Dude three times and he just ignored me, and then asked for my new credit card #. I dunno if an American would have listened, but we'll never know. x( :eyes: I still feel they may have charged me two times more than they should have, but I'll wait for the bank statement to confirm this. If they had charged me twice extra, you can bet your sweet bippy I'm going to respond, at warp 9, with phasers and photon torpedos at full power. But the bank teller the second day did check and say only a few cents had been added, just to verify the account existed. There's probably no problem.

9. AOL is a virus!!!
Anyone who I know who has had it have had to literally format their entire drive in order to get rid of the crap it installs on your system.
When I got my comcast cable I told the guy to register my modem (because they ahve to) and that I will not put their disc in my computer. It has nothing I need. And all internet service discs are the same.

AOL Times Warner contributes campaign funds to
mostly Democrats, according to opensecrets.org

maybe it's a DLC connection
