1. Not me! As Homer said, "Now, all we needed was the approval from
music industry lowlifes."

3. I will be
I love awards shows. I'm watching Joan on E! right now. She's such a mess. I think the Grammy's are going to be pretty good. There are some good performers scheduled and I think the show has started to relax and loosen up in the last few years. I hope the humor is good. They have a lot to make fun of.

Watching people congratulate themselves is not my idea of a pleasant evening.

6. I was inspired by one acceptance speech years ago.
I feel much as you do, aquaman, but for about ten years I immersed myself in All Things Oscar.

When Callie Khouri won her Oscar for Best Original Screenplay for "Thelma & Louise," I wanted to write movies. I wanted to jump up on the stage and hug her and tell her "you rock, and please keep writing great movies about women." I didn't find her speech self-congratulatory at all.

The last thing she said as she accepted her Oscar was, "For everyone who wanted a happy ending to "Thelma & Louise," this is it."

I still want to write movies because of Callie Khouri.

7. I too thought her speech was great
Thelma and Louise was such a great movie. ridley Scott, who directed it, got such backlash for directing it b/c of it's feminist views. What a shame.

should be a feminist. :eyes:
GREAT movie, one of my top ten. :toast:

Edited to delete possible unintended offense to a small but wonderful group of very masculine and virile men.
