6. I've been banned there several times...

I wear it as a badge of honor. It has been a while since I re-registered. I have a hard time holding back. The longest I went was several months. I always end up blowing my top. I need to work on that. Ha-ha!

The threads that always make me lose it are the ones where there is a discussion about a crime, usually a child abduction or a rape/murder.

Many, many posters in freeperville blame the victim. Common posts along the lines of: Women soldiers were raped because they had no business being in the military. As if the women deserve it because they are soldiers.They also love to say that the male soldiers are just being men and can't help themselves. Another common thread: Blaming the child or the parents for an abduction, murder or rape.

It's a sickness for them. For myself I just can't hold back in the face of such ignorance and hatred towards women. At the least I have been called a feminazi and a hitlery lover (LOL, that is SOP over there) at worst I have been banned. Amazing that the truth will get you banned there.

If so, getting banned is a no-brainer. DU isn't about free speech. It's about having a place to talk to like minds. If you want to debate Repubs, you have to go someplace else.

americanforums or whatever they want call themselves should be a bit more about free speech since they're catering to a large group of people, who are inevitably going to clash, especially when one side becomes more aggressive (guess which one as I didn't even have to open my mouth, everybody else was freely posting some nasty things...)

freerepublic is the antithesis of DU in terms of political party, but they can be as restrictive as they want. But americanforums needs to be a little more controlling over people who make offensive posts, or equally allow people to respond to those offensive posts.

But I'm outta there, and I was before I checked back to see if I had been banned or not. They're not worth my time (or anybody's) either way. It'll inevitably become another haven for repukes anyway. :eyes:
