Quick question for web designers:
I want some professional-looking buttons for my site. Any suggestions for sites that have them? I do google-searches, but so much crap comes up!

3. Yes.
But I barely know how to use it. I'm looking for some pre-made stuff. (Stock material) Buttons for: Email, Bookmark this page, Photos, Archives.

Here's my site. Look toward the bottom to see where I plan to put the buttons. (Note that I'm experimenting a bit down there.)

5. the best episode is the interview
I watched it during my physics class over the fall semester in 2002 and broke up laughing right in the middle of a lesson

6. Be sure to click on the example web page.
It's at the end of the flash animation! Such a classic!

But I'm STILL looing for stock buttons!

My site is nothing like Strongbad's site.

9. don't know about custom buttons

but unless you could get them in a 'set' it would just dilute the overall 'look' of the site with competiting design elements.

my suggestion would be a simple navigation bar incorporating the colors and 'squiggle' graphic.

it could then be included on the sub-pages (would have to add a 'home' button), increasing the consistent look at function of the overall site...

my $.02, free of charge.

11. I agree, I am looking for a 'set'
I don't like complex-looking site with to much clutter. I pride myself on simple, functional design.
I'm experimenting tonight with various buttons for the bottom of the front page. Ideally I want to find a set I can use.

12. "simple, functional design"
agreed 100%. context should not overpower content.

a thin, horizontal navigation bar, under the logo/banner of each page would really make it easiest on your users. (this is a cinch to create with photoshop/dreamweaver and you can have nice--but not flashy-- 'mouseover' effects very simply)

good luck! let me know if you want help.

13. webuttons
I've designed one or two websites for a class, and spent hours looking for buttons. I can't remember any specific sites, but if you use google and put in something like buttons web or whatever, it will pull up mucho sites. Personally I would really like to learn to just make them on photoshop. I think they would have to be a certain size in imageready and seems not too difficult. But I've never actually made any. Yet, anyway. I have seen a bunch of freeware or software called buttonmaker, etc. But how nice to just do it, and then be able to get exact specs.
