1. I saw Harry Chapin perform at a small night club near
Providence RI just a few months before he died. Loved his music. Really intimate club - no more than about 75 people there that night. He took requests and chatted with us between sets.

13. So true - and especially memorable because
my soon-to-be-husband and I were there celebrating our engagement. (Celebrated our 25th Anniversary in April!) IIRC, Harry was only 39 when he died. His death, and Jim Croce's, were very sad for me.

23. Only a short while ago,...
Thomcat and I were listening to Wizard rock. Here's Thomcat's favorite song:

In Which Draco and Harry Secretly Want To Make Out
Draco Malfoy, what’s your problem?
You’re lookin kinda mopey and forlorn this morning
Harry Potter, what’s your deal?
Are you having trouble with the feelings that you feel?
Draco Malfoy, what’s your issue?
Do you need a hug or maybe a tissue?
Harry Potter, give us a sign
You can’t commit to Ginny so what do you have in mind?
Give me three guesses
Is it Professor McGonagall?
Is it Lavender Brown?
No, it’s Draco and Harry sitting in a tree
S-N-O-G-G-I-N-G
It’s Draco and Harry sitting in a tree
F-A-L-L-I-N-G
In love
In love
In love

Draco Malfoy, level with me
You used to be so enthralled with Pansy
Harry Potter, don’t be shy
You got no luck with women so perhaps you need a guy
There’s nothing wrong with it
No, there’s nothing wrong with it
You can move to Massachusetts
Where it will be Draco and Harry sitting in a tree
S-N-O-G-G-I-N-G
It’s Draco and Harry sitting in a tree
F-A-L-L-I-N-G
In love

There’s nothing wrong with it,
There’s nothing wrong with it,
There’s nothing wrong with it
it’s Draco and Harry sitting in a tree
S-N-O-G-G-I-N-G
it’s Draco and Harry sitting in a tree
S-N-O-G-G-I-N-G
it’s Draco and Harry sitting in a tree
S-N-O-G-G-I-N-G
it’s Draco and Harry sitting in a tree
F-A-L-L-I-N-G
In love

TERRA NAOMI UP HERE

Roll into your town and I’m walking around
Got some extra time think I’ll throw some money down
And you follow me around
and you’re asking for the time
Your asking what I found
think I’m gonna rob you blind

Maybe it’s the tattoo on my arm
that I drew while I was bored waiting tables in New York
a heart and two flowers intertwined with a vine
I can see your point, I can see your point

And up here I am who I am
And if you don’t like it then fuck you, man
I’m not a thief and a whore
Please don’t follow me around next time I’m shopping in your store

And up here I’m making you aware
That if you don’t like me well I don’t care
I’ll be exactly who I am and if you got a problem with me
Well that’s your problem, man

After I’ve paid count the money that you made
Then you go to the show like to be entertained
And I get up on the stage
Trained monkey in a cage
And it’s just another day, just another day

And I can see you from my place on the stage
Third row center aisle
Hot blond with you
All smiles
And you got another woman but that’s in another town
And you can’t wait till this is over
Gonna lay that honey down

And up here I am who I am
And if you don’t like it then fuck you, man
I’m not a thief and a whore
Please don’t follow me around next time I’m shopping in your store, yeah

And up here I’m making you aware
That if you don’t like me well I don’t care
I’ll be exactly who I am and if you got a problem with me
Well that’s your problem, man

And your good values taught you how to behave
Who to treat kindly and who to enslave
And like all good men you still fall to the floor
When a great big rack
And a ripe round ass
Walk through that door … yeah

And up here I am who I am
And if you don’t like it then f@#k you, man
I’m not a thief and a whore
Please don’t follow me around next time I’m shopping in your store

And up here I’m making you aware
That if you don’t like me well I don’t care
I’ll be exactly who I am and if you got a problem with me
Well that’s your problem, man

33. "Independence Day" - Ellis Paul
I’ll shed some light on the mystery
Of why I kicked her out on Independence Day
With the fireworks burning I found myself learning
Couldn’t lay in my bed the same way
Stand by me that’s what she said if the shit hit the fan
Would you stand by me,
Stand by me
Well, here I am
Here I am

6 o’clock in the city
The shade was fighting back with the morning sun
Then the alarm started ringin’
Her curls fell round her
She asked me when the buses run
And the phone’s been ringing since Monday
She’s looking for a place where she can talk all alone
But here I am
Here I am

I know your tricks, your magic
But I don’t know what your truth is about
If you paint the daylight tragic
You’re never gonna figure it out

From a chair in the kitchen
I watched her live her life in a batting cage
Swingin’ through jobs, through her family
Then it hit me, it grabbed me
She’s winding up like Satchel Page
And I could hear the crash of the fireworks
Bringing in the light through the windows and doors

It lit a little matchbox found in the kitchen
I read the name and number and I fell on the floor
But here I am
Here I am
Here I am

I know your tricks, your magic
Now I know just what your truth is about
If you paint the daylight tragic
You’re never gonna figure it out

Stand by me
That’s what you said
You said you’d stand by me
Stand by me
Here I am
Here I am

36. Trisha Yearwood - Dreaming Fields. The melody is beautiful.
Oh, the sun rolls down, big as a miracle
And fades from the Midwest Sky
And the corn and the trees wave in the breeze
As if to say goodbye
Oh, my grandfather stood right here as a younger man
In nineteen and forty three
And with the sweat and his tears, the rain and the years
He grew life from the soil and seed

Oh I'm goin' down to the dreaming fields
But what will be my harvest now
Where every tear that falls on a memory
Feels like rain on the rusted plow
Rain on the rusted plow

And these fields they dream of wheat in the summertime
Grandchildren running free
And the bales of hay at the end of the day
And the scarecrow that just scared me

Now the houses they grow like weeds in a flower bed
This morning the silo fell
Seems the only way a man can live off the land these days
Is to buy and sell

So I'm goin' down to the dreaming fields
But what will be my harvest now
Where every tear that falls on a memory
Feels like rain on the rusted plow
Rain on the rusted plow

Like the rain on the roof on the porch by the kitchen
Where as my grandmother sings, I can hear if I listen
Running down, running down to the end of the world I loved
This will be my harvest now

And the sun rolls down, big as a miracle
And fades in the Midwest sky
And the corn and the trees wave in the breeze
As if to say goodbye
As if to say goodbye
