I didn't have a beard, never could grow one that looked worth a damn but I remember some guys who waited until the last nanosecond to shave theirs off. Lord were there some pissed off swabbies.

11. Norfolk.

There were fights in the bars. I was a Corpsman, so my E.R. was ROCKIN': the local Grunts at Little Creek AMPHIB were not complementary.

I was in Norfolk this summer. JESUS H. CHRIST, you'd think the RUSSIANS were coming and bringing the CHINESE with them. Concrete barriers and half of the gates to bases PERMANENTLY closed. I'll bet Yorktown looked like a prison camp.
