How to open a bottle of wine...
So I've got this bottle of wine that's sat in my wine rack for over a year and now I want to drink it, booze hound that I am... I went to get the cork screw, but the bloody cork (some sort of plasticine rubberized nonsense, not made of real cork) is stuck!!! Is there a way to get tight corks out of these situations, or is this a divine sign that I should just drink kool-aid instead?

Thx!

1. Try this
Just push the cork through. If that doesn't work, just smash the top of the bottle on the counter top till the neck breaks off. Remember to use a glass, though!

2. Thanks!
One's a bit extreme and the other's akin to reverse psychology and I'll have to find a suitable container, but that seems to be my only alternative... thx!

3. Push the cork in.
Or, get a two-prong opener and TWIST the cork out.

5. Agreed. Get a proper corkscrew. I believe that it's a physical
impossibility to have a cork "stuck" (the whole glass vs. cork or glass vs. synthetic cork thing). It's much more likely that your corkscrew is a POS.

Get a new one. I recommend a "rabbit" style corkscrew. It's simple and it works every time with a minimum of effort.

6. You Have One Of Two Choices
Pull it out or push it in.

Either way, the neck of the bottle will be cleared where you can enjoy the skill of the Vitiner's product.

7. Don't ask me.
The wine I buy just unscrews.

9. Just get yourself a 6-pack of beer
and forget the cork. If God wanted us to drink wine he wouldn't have invented beer.

10. Get a Screwpull.
Or a waiter's corkscrew.
