We're getting a new foster puppy tomorrow!

This is Lilly. She's a 7-month-old cairn terrier. Her former owners thought it would be *fun* to breed puppies... apparently they had 1 male and 3 females, cranked out some puppies, then got a divorce. Hence all the dogs are now being fostered through the rescue society.

SPAY AND NEUTER, PEOPLE!!!! :grr:

So what are the chances i'm going to end up keeping this one? :D

2. Yeah, it's always hard...

Fun though! And my dog Elmo seems to like having foster siblings around.

We were lucky -- my fiance's parents adopted the one we got the most attached to! :D

3. I'd say the chances are arf-full high...
(but then I'd have to recite the little poem my dad, an inveterate punster, would use as an apology-
"For every puny pun I shed,
I really should be pun-ish-ed.")

Lilly is adorable, and I hope you adopt her!

:spray:

That's fantastic! I'm going to have to remember that one.

We'll see how she gets along with Elmo, and go from there... we haven't ruled out the possibility. ;)

8. Awww, you should post pics!

We are already huge terrier fans. This is Elmo -- he's a shelter pup, but obviously some kind of terrier mix. He has the most hilarious, stubborn, yet intelligent personality. :)

We always joke that Elmo is a dog that even cat-lovers like... because he's not up in your face, or slobbery, and he has a bit of that cat-like "i'm gonna do whatever i want" personality.

We know he loves us, but he sure isn't a Labrador.

Edit - typo

11. How old was he when you gave him up?

Still teething, or older? Did you try crate training him for when you were out of the house? :(

12. he was 1 1/2 years
we got him at 7 weeks...

we tried to crate train him, he ate through the crate

then became an outdoor dog...that was the hot tub cover x2 and phone wires and airconditioning conduit wire not to mention

house siding

hot tub steps ect...

we just couldn't keep doing it...

he needed to be where he could roam more than our huge back yard would let him

19. How are you doing today lg?

I'm pretty wrecked... puppy had to pee at 2:30, 4:30, and 8am. *yaaaawn*

She's a sweetie though -- still pretty shy/timid from being neglected and not socialized. She's settling in just fine though. :)

20. Welcome to parenthood
:)

I'm okay. Printing off photos to take to the visitation tomorrow. I grew up in the community where the funeral and service will take place. I got a call from my 3rd grade teacher this morning. She'll be there. My cousin was part of the school district in this Cincinnati suburb for over 30 years. My childhood is there. Lelapin and I are leaving early to go see my old neighborhood and school. We're meeting OhioBlues and LoveOhioBlues after visitation for dinner.

Should be an emotional day, but I'm grateful I'm close enough to be able to attend. Seeing my old teachers and old neighbors from childhood should be a real shock to my psyche...
