People scare me sometimes--

a friend at work told me yesterday that Chris Matthews sided with the Democratic Party.

What the hell? Are there certain people whose ears just don't work right? I couldn't possibly get that from listening to him, or has my dislike of him colored my perceptions?

Of course, my friend thinks Reagan was a great president. He's going to vote for Fred Thompson, but he wishes Reagan could be president again (being dead not withstanding).

Really, really, really nice guy, but geez, he needs a reality check.

1. I don't know what's with Tweety.

If you look at his biography, you'll see he worked for various Democrats (Tip O'Neill, for instance), but he seems tone-deaf to a lot of the issues and seems to get his knickers in a twist over the damnedest things. Maureen Dowd seems to have the same problem.
