3. TV show...

Animated comedy. 1994 on ABC, 1995 on FOX.

ABC hated it because it was too racy.

So the producers managed to sell it to FOX, with FOX saying to make it racy because it was too tame.

Despite high ratings, the FOX execs hated the show because it wasn't *theirs* and as such couldn't make as much profit off of it. :eyes:

They tried selling it to UPN in '96, but that fell through. :cry: Pity, as they had some interesting ideas...

That show need never die as long as Hollywuss, er Hollywood, keeps churning out movies. Given the bulk of the movies from the last 3 or 4 years, "The Critic" would be living its best days...

But Family Guy is the ultimate example of Fox shunning a good thing.
