What have -you- learned from the last 7 years?
I've learned:

1. People will do anything for a potato.
2. Never pass up an opportunity to participate in state sponsored vandalism.
3. 'Schadenfrende' is more than a word, it's a lifestyle choice.
4. LostinVA is a troll.

Navel gazing...

Introspection...

Examining my life...

Making up excuses...

as useless as I thought I was.

And I don't have to feel guilty all the time, because most things really aren't my fault.

20. If you had a good reason for breaking up with someone in the first place,
you shouldn't get back together with that person.

Unless the sex is REALLY good. And even then, be careful.

23. Never say things can't get any worse, because they really can.
I've learned how to live within my means. Unfortunately, I'm still paying on credit card debt from my excursion into drinking wine on a beer budget.

Working for a union company isn't necessarily better than working for a non-union one.

If you want to make money in trucking be prepared to work your ass off.

Most Americans know very little about politics.

Long term, heavy consumption of Diet Coke can lead to gastro-intestinal problems.

Noam Chomsky is the reincarnation of Jesus Christ.

George Bush is smarter than most Democrats give him credit for. I saw him tie his own shoes on the news the other day.

Blowing up your TV will not save your brain from rotting.

Beer is not a good substitute for TV.

Artists and musicians are not smarter than everyone else. Talent is not an indicator of intelligence.

It is damn hard to make money in real estate when you are starting from scratch.

Psychiatric drugs that make me normal are far better than the illegal drugs that made me weird.

Now that I'm 35 I cannot eat like I did when I was 20.

Most people I've met think I'm 10 years younger than my actual age. I'm not sure if it's because of my looks or my behavior, though.

A bunch of other stuff I can't think of right now.

30. Hmm. What have I learned recently?
It's always darkest just before the tornado flattens your house.

Smile and the world smiles with you. Cry, and you're showing better understanding of the true depth of the disaster.

Idiots smile all the time, so don't feel bad that you're not smiling.

It's not worth trying to convince truly stupid people of ANYTHING: when you walk away, it's like their brain pushes "CLEAR," and they are right back the way they were before you opened your mouth.

Having a High IQ is like having a huge motor in your car: if you don't put gas in it, it STILL isn't going anywhere.

There are people out there who REALLY BELIEVE the myths, and they can ruin your whole day/week/month/year/decade if you work for them.

The truly competent get to prove it over and over because they will be worked to death, while the incompetent take a nap.

Jesus, even if he exists, will not save ANYBODY. EVER. So pray if you want, but lock your house.

Trust people if you have to, but realize you are playing against the odds.

When someone who's lied to you before says "Trust me," DON'T. EVER.

Truly Crazy people usually remain a little crazy no matter what meds they take.

I could keep going, but it's making me depressed.
