List your favorite NES video game
Edited on Sat Feb-07-04 06:08 PM by jpgray
I got a Nintendo Entertainment System when I was a little boy, and though I've played some of the new systems my friends have bought more than a decade later, the magic just seems to have gone.

My favorite game would have to be "Ghosts 'n' Goblins"

HARDEST. GAME. EVER.

edit: I'd also have to add Metroid and Kid Icarus... forgot about those. :) And BOTH Link games.

5. Anything and everything
Mario or Legend of Zelda...right now playing Ocarina of Time for the second time, after not playing it for years. I agree there was nothing like the NES when it first came out.

12. Marble Madness, Snake Rattle and Roll
Castlevania, all the Super Mario Bros, esp 3.

I miss my NES. The newer, flashier, 3D games just aren't as fun, IMO. If I could find an old system with some of my old favorite games, or some way to play the old ones on the computer, then I would probably neglect my kids. (just kidding, of course)

I have been tempted to buy one..

but the boys took all the games when they grew up & moved out.. And mow they are into playstations, so the games are surely history now..

And most of the games still work. Don't have much time to play them, but they're always there.

16. Legend of Zelda...hardest. game. ever.
Edited on Sat Feb-07-04 07:24 PM by Edge
I have never beat it. It was the hardest game every on ANY system.

My favorits list:
*Legend of Zelda
*Legend of Zelda II
*Blaster Master
*Kid Icarus
*Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 1, 2, and 3.
*Little Nemo the Dream Master
*METROID!!! (Super Metroid was the best out of any Metroid game...on the primitive Nintendo systems.)
*Mega Man 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6....however many there were.
*Super Mario Bros. 1, 2, and 3.
*Castelvania games.
*Dungeons and Dragons
*Ghouls and Ghosts
*Super Ghouls and Ghosts

There's others I have forgot to mention, I'm sure. I'll put them in if I think of them later.

17. This reminds me
I don't remember what game it was, but it was very hard. My little guy kept getting stuck. There was a time limit to finish certain tasks, and when the time would start running out, and I was stuck, I'd get very frustrated. I would start screaming things like "I CAN'T GET OUT OF THE GOD DAMNED WELL!!" I'm sure the neighbors thought I'd gone nuts.

18. LOL. My brother and I almost killed each other over North and South
Great action-based civil war strategy game. It literally set brother against brother. I wasn't too young to realize that my brother starting the game in 1864 rather benefited the union. :eyes:
